    Company Overview: We are seeking a qualified LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in LOTO procedures and practices within industrial power or process plant environments.

    Location: On-site in Nebraska, United States (5 days a week)

    Duration: Contract position - 4 months with high likelihood of extension

    Responsibilities:

    1. LOTO Program Management: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program in accordance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Ensure that all LOTO procedures are documented, up-to-date, and effectively communicated to plant personnel.

    2. Procedure Review and Revision: Review existing LOTO procedures and identify opportunities for improvement or optimization. Work closely with plant management, operations, and maintenance teams to update and revise LOTO procedures as needed to enhance safety and efficiency.

    3. Training and Education: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate plant personnel on LOTO principles, procedures, and best practices. Provide guidance and support to employees to ensure proper understanding and implementation of LOTO protocols.

    4. LOTO Audits and Inspections: Perform regular audits and inspections of LOTO procedures and practices to verify compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Identify areas of non-compliance or potential risks and recommend corrective actions to address deficiencies.

    5. Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to LOTO procedures and safety protocols during maintenance, repair, and servicing activities. Conduct periodic safety assessments and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate LOTO-related risks in the workplace.

    6. Incident Investigation: Lead or assist in investigations of LOTO-related incidents, near misses, or accidents. Analyze root causes, develop corrective actions, and implement preventive measures to prevent recurrence and improve overall safety performance.

    7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of LOTO procedures, training activities, audits, inspections, and incident reports. Prepare regular reports and metrics on LOTO compliance, performance, and improvement initiatives for management review.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial power or process plants, with a focus on LOTO procedures and practices.
    • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and industry best practices related to LOTO.
    • Strong knowledge of power generation, distribution, and process plant operations.
    • Experience developing, implementing, and managing LOTO programs and procedures.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate plant personnel.
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Certification in LOTO procedures or relevant safety training is preferred.
