Transmission Associate / Manager - Renewable Energy

The Company:

A nation leading developer, owner & operator of utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS projects has a critical & immediate hiring need for a few Transmission Associates/Managers. They have over 20GW in the pipeline and eager to grow further. They are seeking multiple Transmission Associates and/or Managers (title dependent on experience) to accommodate the company's growing development pipeline and their plans to submit exciting new projects to interconnection queues across the United States.

The Role:

As a Transmission Associate/Manager, you will be the subject matter and technical expert in regards to transmission & interconnection issues, processes and requirements to support the project development team. You will use this expertise to conduct due diligence efforts and inform developers of the processes, requirements, & risks involved in establishing projects in your market. You will understand industry concerns, negotiate interconnection agreements, originate strategies, & more.

Role Responsibilities:

Take ownership of the interconnection process (performing interconnection studies, submitting interconnection requests, negotiating agreements, etc.).
Stay current with events, concerns, and new projects in the utility-scale renewable market by attending power market stakeholder forums, such as CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, etc.
Origination of tactical action plans & high-level strategies to support new interconnection & transmission service requests.
Identify suitable POIs through transmission and distribution grid analysis, power flow study reviews, and other market data
Conduct studies to determine impacts on project costs, scheduling, and operation.
Provide interconnection plans & transmission assessments upon request.
Service agreement negotiations.
Support potential commercial transactions (i.e. PPAs, M&A activities, etc.).
Foster strong relationships with transmission owners, ISOs/RTOs, & regulators applicable to your market.

Qualifications: *The qualifications can vary depending on title*

Bachelor or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum of 3+ years experience in a transmission planning and interconnection capacity.
Utility-scale renewable energy industry experience preferred.
Ideally based in Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, or Houston but open to remote.
Proficient in transmission planning, construction & operations.
Knowledge of interconnection processes, tariffs, business practices, & regulatory standards.
