Responsibilities:
- Oversee Health and Safety: Responsible for ensuring the well-being of all personnel on site, including vendors, contractors, delivery staff, clients, inspectors, and the public.
- Compliance: Support and adhere to Narenco safety rules and regulations.
- OSHA and NFPA Enforcement: Enforce compliance with 29 CFR-1926 (OSHA Standard for Construction) and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace).
- Weekly Inspections: Conduct weekly worksite inspections.
- Safety Orientations: Provide site-specific safety orientations for employees and visitors.
- Emergency Preparedness: Understand site-specific emergency response plans.
- Spill Response: Familiarity with the SPCC plan and leading the initial spill response team.
- Lightning Stand Downs: Implement lightning stand downs as needed.
- Incident Investigations: Investigate near misses, accidents, and injuries.
- Contractor Compliance: Ensure contractors perform task-specific JHAs/JSAs before starting work.
- Document Management: Collect and review subcontractors' JHA/JSA documents, uploading them to the Viewpoint System.
- Safety Meetings: Lead weekly site-wide safety meetings (Toolbox Talks).
- Fire Extinguisher Inspections: Inspect jobsite fire extinguishers weekly.
- Assist with Audits: Support the Corporate Safety Director during site audits.
- SWPPP Awareness: Understand the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and prevent off-site sedimentation issues.
- SWPPP Inspections: Assist with weekly SWPPP inspections, ensuring proper documentation per local and state requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school graduate or GED.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in site safety, either in commercial/industrial or solar settings.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to comprehend technical bulletins, diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents.
- OSHA Certification: Holds OSHA 510 or OSHA 30 certification.
- First Aid/CPR: Qualified in First Aid and CPR.
- NFPA 70 E Familiarity: Knowledgeable about NFPA 70 E standards.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with 29 CFR 1926 and OSHA record-keeping requirements.
- Accident Investigation: Understands accident investigation techniques.
- Technology Proficiency: Able to set up and utilize various technologies, including laptops, Wi-Fi, tablets, and wireless cameras.
- Software Familiarity: Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and similar software systems.
- Temporary Relocation: Willingness to temporarily relocate within a 60-minute drive of an assigned construction site.
- Strong Work Ethic: Demonstrates dedication and reliability.
- Professional Demeanor: Maintains a polished and respectful attitude.
- Team Player: Collaborates effectively with colleagues.
- Excellent Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Driver's License: Holds a clean driving record.
